When you are on the island of Jamaica, all your troubles disappear!
Clinton Taylor is quite familiar with this feeling — not only was he born in Jamaica, he now loves to travel there as well.
Clinton grew up in St. Thomas, where he attended elementary school. He then attended St. Andrew Technical High School in Kingston for four years and Excelsior College for one year studying accounting. He also completed external courses and examinations through the University of Cambridge and University of London while living in Jamaica.
In 1984, he and his family became Florida residents. He continued his education after immigrating to the United States, completing his bachelor's degree at The University of Phoenix and his MBA with Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.
As a teenager, Clinton was “intrigued” by the banking industry and envisioned himself as a future banking professional.
He started as a teller at Barclays Bank in Jamaica and worked his way through various positions including teller, loan processor, assistant manager and credit analyst. He and his family moved to Florida in 1984, and soon after, he joined Barnett Bank (now Bank of America).
Today, Clinton is VP, Commercial Banker for the INB South Florida team. He is committed to INB’s vision of “making banking easy” and helping his clients achieve their financial goals.
Clinton has served several community-based organizations in various capacities over the years, including treasurer of the Greater Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce; Mentor of The Year for Take Stock In Children; Trustee of the Pension Board for the City of Miramar, FL; and member of the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes since 2001, in which he’s held several leadership positions such as five-time treasurer and current Scholarship Chair for over 10 years.
He names his greatest philanthropic accomplishment as helping to lead the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes to Florida District Club of the Year in 2016-17, selected out of 400 Service Clubs in the state.
